What's up with NHL and Rahal?

I've been hearing reports via Robin Miller that McDonald's has pulled their funding from NHL and that Rahal is scrambling looking for a ride. He also states that the Alex Lloyd deal is dead as well. What have you heard?

Nothing beyond what Miller's been saying, but I know the McDonald's deal hinged on the company using Newman's Own as their dressing of choice for their salads. As long as they wanted Newman's Own they had to sponsor the car as that was written into the supply contract.

They haven't been using Newman's up here in Canada for a while - like many months - and I suspect the situation is the same in the states.

With McDonalds gone NHL needs to find a sponsor to make the ride work and they don't really have a great track record for finding sponsors as the 06 ran with blank sidepods for may years. (Hole in the Wall Camps was/is a Newman-sponsored charity.)

Do you think daddy Rahal still has a chassis he could slap together for a run at Indianapolis?

I do know that Target Chip Ganassi and Penske have strong interest in Rahal so I wouldnt be suprised to see him on one of these teams.

I figured the writing was on the wall when Newman passed but I didn't expect it to happen so soon.
