Default Danica's ARCA Testing

Well, the rain dampened any track activity this morning at Daytona but they did get some laps run this afternoon. It's currently raining at this time.

Out of the 26 cars that have ran so far, Danica was 12th quickest. Her lap time was 51.095 seconds with a speed of 176.142.

The quickest of this first session so far is Mikey Kile with a lap time of 49.804 with a speed of 180.708

if a group of cars are drafting, I don't know why you're getting so excited about 'speed/lap times'

Im proud of Danica. She is showing everyone that she will dominate in stock cars as well.

Danica was 10th quickest in this morning's session with a lap time of 49.934 and a speed of 180.238.

As well? she's never dominated anything in her life, except maybe the headlines.

Daytona lap time tells you nothing. It's pointless really, it's not about the driver at these tracks. Even if it was, 10th in an ARCA test in top equipment is nothing to get excited about.

But, you have to admit a top 10 showing isn't bad considering she's as green as newly sodded grass when it comes to stockers. You wouldn't expect that kind of showing from just any newbee.

But, to say she's going to dominate ... well, that's a leap of blind faith I wouldn't want to make.

My girl Milka Duno had an awesome weekend as well!

Saturday morning she was 26th a mere .16 off of Danica in 25th
Saturday afternoon she was 12th 49.475, Danica was back in 18th or so 49.572.
Sunday morning Duno was 15th 50.083 to Patrick's 49.934
Then things got a bit tough.

Quote:
With no prior practice or seat time in any type of stock car at the end of the sessions on Saturday Milka delivered the 13th quickest time (out of 63 times posted.)

Of the ten women participating in the ARCA Racing Series test, which included Danica Patrick – Milka was the second fastest at the end of the day on Saturday. Alli Owens, an experienced stock car competitor, led the group.

As all the drivers ahead of her that day have previous stock car experience, including several ARCA race winners – Milka was the fastest rookie on Saturday.

Milka’s only Sunday session started with a first lap time of 50.083 seconds placing her third fastest overall at the time. She pitted after the lap and when back out on the track the engine started to lose power – so her next 7 laps were off the pace. When she brought the car back into the pits an engine issue was diagnosed and her effort for the day came to an abrupt end. Had Milka been able to continue on she would have surely topped the charts again today with the fastest rookie time.

On Saturday Milka improved her results with each and every lap and from session to session. As of this writing, and at the end of today’s first session, Milka’s fast lap time on Saturday of 49.47 seconds (delivered in only 34 laps,) would have been achieved, and most likely bested today, and would have placed her second quickest in Sunday’s morning’s session.

It's not bad, it's not good. It's just what you'd expect from anyone that has driven a racecar at a mid to high level before.

It's ARCA, which isn't exactly a high level of competition. It's a test, so people aren't trying to qualify. It's Daytona, which is just push the pedal and go, the driver can't make a car fast there. She's in top level equipment.

Alll this test shows is that Danica is not totally incompetent, which I think we already knew.

I respect Danica's abilities but I am not interested in times from this test because I feel they are completely pointless and meaningless.

plus...if you look at the backing behind that car - JR/which means some Hendrick influence and the $$$ vs milka's.
